Robert C. Farrell, age 70, died Sunday, September 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Boston in 1942 to the late Walter C. and Leona (Hamlen) Farrell, he is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Beverly (Baird) Farrell. He was father of Rhonda Lynch and her husband Mark of Rockland, Melissa Farrell of Michigan and the late Richard Farrell; brother of Evelyn Chase of Wareham; grandfather of eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; uncle to several nieces and nephews.
Upon graduating from Bridgewater High School in 1960 he volunteered for the U. S. Navy and served in the Caribbean during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mr. Farrell was a master mechanic and owned and operated Farrell’s Auto Service of Weymouth since 1993. He was a service manager for a
Ford dealership for many years.
Bob enjoyed renovating old homes and was an all-around “Mr. Fix-it”. He was an avid fisherman, with his top catch being a blue marlin off the
Virgin Islands.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday September 20th from 4-8 p.m. The Funeral service will be on Friday 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in S. Weymouth.
