Doris F. Chamberlain

Doris F. (Marshall) Chamberlain, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 1, 2012. Doris was born in Weymouth and raised in Brockton and Quincy. She graduated form Quincy High School in 1946.
She married Philip H. Chamberlain in 1946 after he was honorably discharged from the Navy in which he had served for 3 years during World War II. They have been happily married for 66 years.
They have a son Donald J. Chamberlain and his wife Peggy of Aiken, SC and a daughter, Susan J. Tutkus and her husband Richard of Franklin, 4 grandsons, Michael P. Chamberlain, 1st Sgt Jeffrey G. Chamberlain, Eric P. Tutkus and Andrew P. Tutkus and 3 great grandchildren.
Doris has been a homemaker throughout her marriage and was past president of the Fulton School PTA. She and Philip were most active for more than 50 years in the many activities of the Pond Plain Improvement Association. Doris was noted for her Flower Gardens at their summer home in West Dennis which they enjoyed with friends and family for 33 years. She was also known for the many rugs she hooked and braided for friends and family. They were also able to enjoy extensive traveling.
The Funeral Service will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday August 6 at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Doris’s memory to the charity of your choice.
