Mary (DeSimone) Tanger, age 82, formally of Weymouth passed away in Manchester, NH on Tuesday June 26, 2012. She is the wife of the late Peter Salmon and the late John L. Tanger. Mary is survived by her 5 children, Virginia Tengberg-Rossi and her husband Dick of Marshfield, Mary Lee and her partner Debbie Coakley of Manchester, NH, Peter Salmon of Weymouth, Margaret MacKenzie and her husband Tom of North Attleboro and John Salmon of Weymouth. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. She is predeceased by her loving granddaughter Nicole Salmon.
Mary was born in Quincy, graduated Quincy High School and lived in Weymouth most of her life before moving to Manchester, NH 11 years ago.
She had a long career as an office administrator in Quincy and Weymouth medical offices. When she retired to Manchester, NH she volunteered as a foster grandparent in the Manchester, NH School System. She was an avid reader and Red Sox Fan, enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her children, grandchildren, many good friends and her beloved cats and dog.
The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday June 30 at 9 A.M. followed by the Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10 A.M. Visiting will be on Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in the Woodside Cemetery in Cohasset. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the American Heart / American Stroke Association P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
