Silvia (Marini) Tanner, age 67, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Tuesday March 6, 2012. She is survived by her loving husband for 47 years, Joseph Tanner, her 2 daughters, Keri Russo and her husband Michael of Tucson, AZ and Julie Tanner of Weymouth. Silvia also leaves her grandchildren, Jared and Ashley Russo both of Tucson, AZ and her cousin, Elaine Soulia of Oak Point, Middleboro. She was very devoted to her dog, Maxie
Silvia was born and grew up in Quincy and lived in Braintree for 35 years before moving to Weymouth 7 years ago. She was an Administrative Assistant for Eddie and Mike’s Gas Station in Braintree for 13 years and became a Unit Coordinator in the South Shore Hospital Cardiac Care Unit for 12 years before retiring in 2010. She was a member of the Old South Union Congregational Church Joy Club.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Old South Union Congregational Church in Weymouth on Friday, March 9 at 11 A.M. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Silvia’s memory to the Scholarship Fund of the Old South Union Congregational Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth.
