Elizabeth M. MacDonald

Elizabeth M (Arthur) MacDonald, age 81, passed away peacefully at the South Shore Hospital surrounded by her loving family on February 14, 2012. Betty was the loving wife for 61 years of the late William W. MacDonald. She is survived by her children, William D. MacDonald and his wife Cheryl of Rockland, John R. MacDonald and his wife Connie of Exeter, NH and Libbie Foley and her husband Stephen of Pembroke, her sister Susan Macko and her husband Bernie of Rockford, AL, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Marie MacDonald. Mrs. MacDonald was born in Somerville and was a life long resident of Weymouth. She was a Loan Officer at the Rockland Federal Credit Union for over 20 Years. After retiring in 1993 she volunteered at the South Shore Hospital for several years. Elizabeth enjoyed sailing and later power boats and was a past Commodore’s wife for the South Shore Yacht Club in Weymouth. She loved camping with her family at Sebago Lake, knitting, gardening, bird watching and her cats, Sassy, Abby and Baxter. Years ago, she loved Square dancing with her husband Bill. Betty will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of enjoying her company.
