Ernest J. Biancuzzo, age 82, passed away at Southwood at Norwell on Monday November 21, 2011. Ernest was survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances A. (Deluca) Biancuzzo, his 2 children, Linda Sacchetti and her husband Ronald of Abington and Robert Biancuzzo of Baltimore, MD and his 4 grandchildren, Carol Sacchetti of Bristol, RI, Kristin Ernest and her husband Christopher of Whitman, Lauren Sacchetti of Weymouth and John Sacchetti of Quincy. He was also survived by 1 sister, 3 brothers and many nieces and nephews.
Ernest was born and grew up in Boston and lived many years in Quincy before moving to Norwell.
Ernie completed 41 years of combined Service as a Master Sergeant with the Army and the Army National Guard. He served in the South Pacific during World War II and then to Korea. He served with the 1St Battalion 101St Infantry of the famed Yankee Division for 36 years and received the Army Commendation Medal. After retirement he worked as a Security Guard for 10 years at the Kennedy Library. He was a member of the 101st Infantry Veterans Association and the Boston Chapter of 26 YD.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday November 23 from 4 to 8 P.M. A Graveside Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Friday November 25 at 10 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ernie’s memory to the Beacon Hospice, 23 Resnick Rd. Suite 3, Plymouth, MA 02360.
