Virginia M. (Sennott) Coffey, formally of South Weymouth died peacefully on November 4th at her home with her family at her side. Beloved wife of Richard Coffey for 48 years. Mother of four daughters, Linda Carroll and her husband Robert of Weymouth, Regina Best of Rockland, Andrea Ludlam and her husband Jeffrey of Abington, Lauren Hindy and her husband Christopher of Rockland. Daughter of the late Helen and Arthur Sr. Sennott of W. Roxbury. Also survived by her sisters Patricia Tompkins of Florida and Kathleen and her husband William Dempsey of Natick, and her brother-in law Edward Coffey Sr. of Boston. She will be sadly missed by her 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
After graduating from Saint Clare’s High School in Roslindale and then the Boston Dispensary she worked as a Laboratory Technician, finishing her career at Massachusetts Respiratory Hospital and retiring in 1998.
She was a lifelong artist, photographer, avid gardener and enthusiastic skier. Ginny and her husband also loved to travel the globe with friends but their favorite vacation spot was North Conway, New Hampshire where they spent over 30 years enjoying their vacation home.
Following her faith, she became a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Francis Church in Weymouth, an accomplishment that gave her great joy. She was a recent communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Plymouth.
Visiting hours are Tuesday November 8th from 4 to 8 pm at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth. The Funeral will be from the Funeral Home on Wednesday November 9th at 9 A.M. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 am at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth with the burial following at the St. Francis Cemetery, Weymouth.
