Carmela Waitekaitis

Carmela (Cardillo) Waitekaitis, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Carmela was the wife for 56 years of Richard A. Waitekaitis Sr. and is survived by her 3 children, Elaine DeJesus of New Smyrna, FL, Steven Waitekaitis of Norwell and Joanne Beasley of S. Weymouth. She is the sister of Anthony Cardillo of Medford, Maryanne Burgess and Gerald Cardillo both of Easton. Carmela also leaves 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandsons and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Richard A. Waitekaitis Jr. and her sister Esther Yourison. Carmela was born and grew up in Boston and lived the last 40 years in Weymouth. The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday October 17 at 9 A.M. followed by the Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Weymouth.
