Barbara L. Hoitt

Barbara L. (Cosgrove) Hoitt, age 91, passed away at the Stafford Hill Assisted Living Center in Plymouth on Thursday September 29, 2011. Barbara was the wife of the late Robert J. Hoitt Sr. and is survived by her children, Robert J. Hoitt Jr. and his wife Mary of Plymouth, Sharon Ward and her husband Jack of Upton, David Hoitt of Shannon, GA and Edward Hoitt of Abington. She also leaves 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Barbara was born and grew up in Quincy and has lived in Weymouth for 50 years. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1938 and Quincy City School of Nursing in 1947. Barbara was a Registered Nurse for 35 years and worked for the Braintree Visiting Nurses Association. She retired in 1985. Barbara was a long time member and past president of the Ladies League at the Rockland Golf Course. A Funeral Service will be held at the Old South Union Congregational Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Monday, October 3 at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M.
